About · a school with a very narrow syllabus
Own Yourself Now exists for one person: an immigrant entrepreneur who wants to own a real U.S. business — started from nothing or bought from a retiring owner — and cannot get a straight answer about which road their status allows.
Not a law firm. Not a brokerage. A school with an unusually clear position on what it will not do.
01
Why we exist
Look at what an entrepreneur on a visa can actually buy help with, and the shape of the silence becomes obvious.
Built for the employment queue
Built for the other road
Not a
conspiracy
The silence has ordinary causes. Advisors answer the question you ask. Brokers are paid on closings. Small-business education is written for readers whose right to stay is not in question. So the questions that matter most to a non-citizen owner — which route, whose signature, what the IRS asks — fall between everybody's desk.
We picked those questions up, put them in a syllabus, and printed the price on the page.
What we believe
02
How we work
Each one costs us something. That is how you can tell it is real rather than a value written on a wall.
Taught live, on your own facts.
No pre-recorded course you buy and never finish. Every programme runs live, small, with office hours, and every session ends in a document you keep.
We are paid by you, and nobody else.
No commission on a business you buy, no referral fees, no affiliate deals with lenders or brokers. We earn the same whether you close or walk away — which is what makes “walk away” a sentence we can say.
Prices are on the page, with the date they change.
No application call to learn the price, no discount that appears if you hesitate. When a price is going up, the new number and the date are printed next to the old one.
Education, and a hard line at advice.
We teach the rules as written and prepare you for the rooms where decisions happen. We do not represent you, file for you, or decide for you — your attorney and CPA do, and we would rather lose the sale than blur that.
03
Who teaches
“For twenty years we built brands and products inside other people's companies, while our family's right to stay rode on decisions made in rooms we weren't in. We built this house so the next family holds their own key.”
F-1, CPT and OPT, H-1B, L-1, O-1, H-4 and the green-card queue — they have walked every road they teach, on both sides of that last line, and every legal fact on this site is cited to primary law you can verify yourself.
Own Yourself Now is operated by Heritage Platform Group, Inc. Nobody in a deal pays us — not a seller, not a lender, not an advisor we point you to. The tools stay free and every referral is disclosed, so nothing you read here is quietly steering you.
Where a topic needs a licensed professional, we bring one into the room to teach the general rules, and say plainly that they are not there to take your case. When only a licensed professional should answer, we say so and step back. That boundary is the whole point.
What we will never do
04
The doctrine
We borrowed three durable ones and put them where an owner can actually use them. Each is attributed, because unattributed borrowing is the first sign of a course you should not buy.
On price
Value a business on what it earns, then insist on a gap between that value and the price you pay. The gap is your protection when you are wrong — and you will sometimes be wrong.

On power
Your power in any deal is not the price — it is your best alternative to agreeing. Know what you will do if you walk, and the number stops being scary.
After Fisher & Ury · BATNA
On time
Build something durable and profitable, run it as though you will keep it forever — and it becomes the kind of thing someone actually wants to buy when you are ready to leave.

Boundaries
Said plainly
Education and preparation
We teach published rules as written, on worked examples, and get you ready for the rooms where decisions are made. Where we are reading a rule rather than quoting it, we say so.
Not advice, not representation
We are not a law firm, not your attorney, not your CPA and not a brokerage. No legal, tax, immigration or financial advice, no position taken on your case, and nothing filed or signed for you.
No relationship created
Reading this site or attending a room creates no attorney–client or accountant–client relationship, and no sponsorship of any kind. Nothing said in a room is privileged.
Rules move, and dates matter. Anything we teach is accurate to the date we state and no further — check the date, then take your own facts to your own attorney and CPA. Every case turns on its own facts.
